Beginner Course
Are you interested in BJJ, but not sure where to start? Then this is the course for you! We will take you through all the essential techniques of BJJ in a friendly, welcoming and relaxed setting aimed at complete beginners. Our experienced instructors will calmly introduce you to the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu in a low pressure environment. Sign up below.
You don’t need any equipment, there are no extra fees and you can wear what you want (unlike some clubs, we won’t make you wear an expensive club uniform). Plus you get incredible value: for only £100, you get 10 lessons at our Clifton location on Thursday evenings, with the option of another 10 shorter catch-up sessions on Sundays at our Central venue.
The course begins on Thursday 2nd October, running for 10 weeks. You then get a free week to try out the rest of our classes, after which you can sign up to a membership for just £50 a month for unlimited classes, or £35 a month for once-a-week training.
Provisional Schedule (subject to change)
Week 1: Escaping and maintaining mount (trap and roll)
Week 2: Sweeping from closed guard (swivel kick)
Week 3: Passing closed guard (Back step pass)
Week 4: Maintain and submit from side control (americana)
Week 5: Escaping side control (guard recovery)
Week 6: Sweeping from open guard (tripod sweep)
Week 7: Passing open guard (knee cut)
Week 8: Sweeping from half guard (toe grab sweep)
Week 9: Passing half guard (hip switch)
Week 10: Submit and escape from the back (RNC)
