Artemis BJJ Training Camp

Can and many of the students at Artemis BJJ regularly attend BJJ Globetrotters Camps. Those consist of an awesome week long BJJ training camp, with classes from 9am through to around 8pm. It’s a fantastic experience and one Can would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, not everybody has the time to take a whole week off work to enjoy a spot of pyjama wrestling. Therefore, Artemis BJJ hosts regular mini BJJ training camps right here in Bristol, to bring a taste of that experience closer to home.

We have also expanded to organise camps elsewhere: our first camp outside of the UK took place in Hamburg, Germany in 2022. We are planning future camps in München, Bergen and the USA. 😁

Most of our camps take place in Bristol, at the easily found Artemis BJJ clubs: directions are over on our Locations page.

The next Artemis BJJ Camp (our eighth) will take place from the 28th April to the 1st May 2023, at our central location in Bristol, UK. There are two rates (please note, both of them are non-refundable). For only the weekend, the standard ticket is £75, while the full Long Weekend price for all four days is just £95. There will be at least 20hrs of training in total, across Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with both classes and open mat time. Planned social activities and optional excursions will also be available. If you would like to book your spot, contact info@artemisbjj.com

Instructors shall include Seymour Yang (famous for his Meerkatsu brand), Tanya Lindsay (instructor teaching in South West UK), Michael Velotta (decades of training), Pete Zawadzki (black belt based in Gloucester), Hayley Carter (elite competitor), Knut Wake (BJJ Globetrotter black belt from Bergen Grappling in Norway), Mike Buckman-Cowling (from Origin BJJ in London), Stuart Healey (instructor at Total Grappling in Milton Keynes), Natalie Day (founder of Grow Jiu Jitsu in Oxford), Jenn Briggs (experienced grappler based at RGA Chester) and Can Sönmez (Artemis BJJ head instructor).

Tickets for our camps are non-refundable as the proceeds are used to pay for the venue and the instructors. However, you can of course sell that ticket on if it turns out you can no longer make an event. Please follow the Artemis BJJ Facebook page if you would like to stay updated on future camps. For footage of previous camps, head over to Instagram.

If you’re looking for things to do when you’re not on the mats, take a look at the helpful info on our Bristol page (for Bristol camps, naturally: for camps we run elsewhere, there will be other pages on the website). We have also hired a dedicated events manager, who is in the process of planning a full schedule of activities across the course of the camp, off the mats. In terms of BJJ sessions, to get an idea of the camp timetable, here’s the provisional schedule, subject to change:
